Space on Screen: Armstrong

The next installment of our Space on Screen series features a dinner and a premiere July 18.

This special edition of Space Center Houston’s monthly space-related film series, Space on Screen, will feature dinner and the brand new documentary, “Armstrong.” Come enjoy dinner in Astronaut Gallery, among astronaut flight and space suits, as well as space photos and artwork. Dramatic, moving and deeply human, “Armstrong” offers the definitive life story of Neil Armstrong: from his childhood in Ohio to his first steps on the Moon and beyond, using home videos shot by the man himself and unseen footage from NASA.

Price: Adult – $39.95, Child – $24.95.

Armstrong features Harrison Ford narrating and was directed by David Fairhead. Armstrong examines the life of an extraordinary figure in American history, “recounting Armstrong’s near-death experiences both as a Navy fighter pilot in Korea (flying from the decks of the USS Essex aircraft carrier) and as a test pilot back on the home front… The documentary also captures the intense drama of the Gemini 8 and Apollo 11 missions as well as dizzying challenges that followed in the turbulent wake of global fame.”

Fairhead has worked as an editor on 45 projects, including documentaries on the Mercury program, Mission Control, Apollo 17 and six episodes of the PBS series Nova. Armstrong is the fourth film he directed, following Spitfire, on the planes that helped win the Battle of Britain, and Mission Control: The Unsung Heroes of Apollo. Space Center Houston played host to the premiere of Mission Control as well in 2017.

Produced by Tin Goose Films, Haviland Digital and Mark Stewart Productions, Armstrong runs 100 minutes. See it for yourself July 18!
