SpaceX Suits

See flown SpaceX spacesuits for a limited time

SpaceX spacesuits worn by NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley are now on display for a limited time!

Get an up-close look at the suits worn by NASA astronauts Robert “Bob” L. Behnken and Douglas “Doug” G. Hurley during NASA’s SpaceX Demo-2 mission. The suits, designed by SpaceX and custom-tailored for each astronaut, are now on display in our International Space Station Gallery.

Demo-2 launched to the International Space Station (ISS) from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center, Florida, on May 30, 2022. Dragon autonomously docked to the space station on May 31, where it remained for sixty-three days before undocking for its return to Earth and safe splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida on August 2, 2020.

The historic mission marked the first time a commercial company launched astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) and safely returned them home. The Demo-2 mission also returned launch capabilities for human spaceflight missions to American soil, which had ceased with the conclusion of NASA’s Space Shuttle Program in 2011.

Space Center Houston is also the home of a flown SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket – just like the one that carried Bob and Doug to the ISS.
