HOUSTON, January 15, 2021 – Space Center Houston and NASA announce the Phase 2 qualifiers of the NASA Space Robotics Challenge, presented by BHP. Twenty-two teams from around the world, including the United States, Spain, Japan, South Australia and South Korea, achieved scores qualifying them to compete for the final competition round prize purse, which could be used to continue research and discovery.

HOUSTON, Dec. 4, 2020 – To kick off a new film coming soon to Space Center Houston, the center invites the public to a live virtual presentation about the largest production ever filmed in space, Space Explorers: The ISS Experience. This epic four-part immersive series, produced by Felix & Paul Studios in association with TIME Studios, invites viewers to join eight astronauts on their life-changing missions aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

HOUSTON, Sept. 22, 2020 – Space Center Houston is closed today, Sept. 22, to protect the safety of our guests and employees due to area flooding and continued rain caused by Tropical Storm Beta. The closure includes all in-person and virtual programs.

Space Center Houston will close Aug. 26-27, to protect the safety of our guests and employees in preparation of anticipated severe weather caused by Hurricane Laura.

HOUSTON, Aug. 24, 2020 –Space Center Houston launches a new leadership training and development program designed to empower people with leadership practices proven to achieve extraordinary feats. Space Center Houston’s new Human Performance Accelerator Lab offers training workshops led by astronauts, psychologists and business experts to help you be a more effective leader.

HOUSTON, July 10, 2020 – Space Center Houston, the Official Visitor Center of NASA Johnson Space Center, reopens to the public on Sunday, July 19 with Member Welcome Back Days July 17-18. Experience a new enhanced guest experience with new safety measures and new exhibits. Registration is also open for the center’s Explorer Camps and Space Center U® education programs.

HOUSTON, June 26, 2020 – In accordance with health guidelines from Harris County, the city of Houston, and the latest stay-at-home ordinance, Space Center Houston will extend its closure until further notice. Space Center Houston will not reopen July 1 as previously announced.
