Space Center Houston’s Moon2Mars Festival Launches Friday, New Artemis Exhibit Now Open

Space Center Houston’s Moon2Mars Festival, presented by Wellby, Powered by JSC FCU, June 10-12

HOUSTON, June 9, 2022 – Space Center Houston launches the first annual Moon2Mars Festival, presented by Wellby, Powered by JSC FCU, June 10-12. The Moon2Mars festival celebrates the future of space from the Moon to Mars. The festival will highlight cutting-edge space technologies and Friday and Saturday will culminate with an evening concert featuring performances by American Authors, Wade Bowen and Katie Toupin. Learn about the return to the Moon through Artemis, a new permanent exhibit about the return to the Moon.

The Moon2Mars Festival is a three-day public event celebrating NASA’s Artemis program and the innovations that will help us establish a sustainable human presence on the Moon. This Moon2Mars Festival is one way Space Center Houston, the Official Visitor Center of NASA Johnson Space Center, provides the public access to be a part of what’s happening now in space exploration.

Experience the latest in space tech! Watch live demonstrations all weekend long, including Astrolab’s next-gen FLEX rover. Explore Artemis, a new permanent exhibit about the return to the Moon. Get an up-close look at the Lunar Outpost Rover, the first rover to the lunar South Pole in 2023. See cutting-edge space tech that will facilitate humanity’s next giant leap inside the Repsol Space Innovation Tent.

Jam out to stellar tunes at the outdoor concerts. The outdoor stage will kick off with live music entertainment at 4 p.m. Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11. Friday’s live music features a performance by Katie Toupin at 7 p.m. and Texan native Wade Bowen at 8:15 p.m. Saturday’s music features performances by Katie Toupin at 7 p.m. and American Authors at 8:15 p.m.

The three-day public festival will provide an up-close look at some of the space technology we’ll need to go to the Moon and Mars like rovers, spacesuits, landers and more. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about cutting-edge technology needed for future space missions from NASA and leading companies working with NASA. These technological wonders will be displayed at Space Center Houston, the home of numerous artifacts tracing the past and exciting future of human space exploration.

Moon2Mars Festival offers something for everyone. Experience indoor and outdoor programming, immersive learning opportunities, delicious food and beverage offerings from Wolfgang Puck Catering, live music and additional programming on the outdoor stage throughout the days and evenings of June 10-12. Relax and beat the heat inside air conditioned festival tents with fun space activities. Space Center Houston members get access to free chair massages, sunscreen, swag bags, and activities in the family-friendly Member Lounge, presented by Wellby.

Tickets are on sale now for Space Center Houston’s Moon2Mars Festival, presented by Wellby, Powered by JSC FCU, June 9-12. Moon2Mars Festival ticket prices are $34.95 for children (ages 4-11), $37.95 for seniors, $39.95 for adults (12 and older), and $34.95 (onsite only) for members of the military.
