Picnic Under the Stars

Join us for the new Picnic Under the Stars in our international landmark Independence Plaza on May 26 and mark the first time a space shuttle docked with the International Space Station in 1999.

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs, pick your favorite spot underneath the historic shuttle carrier aircraft NASA 905 and watch a movie under the stars.

This is the first of an exciting new series of outdoor and indoor events for the public that will be held at Space Center Houston.

Relive one of the most harrowing space missions as you watch the film Apollo 13 projected on our five-story building.

Enjoy complementary popcorn. Hot dogs, beer, wine, margaritas and Coca-Cola soft drinks will be available for purchase. Please note that pets, coolers and outside food are not permitted.

Explore our brand-new special events building overlooking Independence Plaza.

Tickets are $10. There is no additional charge to watch the movie. Gates open at 7:30 p.m. The movie will begin at sunset.
